“What’s a Price Cap?”

Why use this box?

A Price Cap lets you pre-approve repairs up to a certain amount. If the repair falls within your approved limit, our technicians can begin work immediately without waiting for additional authorization, helping reduce turnaround time.

Example: you have a MacBook Pro with no image. Possible causes may include:

Screen replacement: $500
Motherboard repair: $325
Screen cable replacement: $150

If you set a Price Cap of $175, we'll begin diagnosis and repair when your device reaches our bench. If the repair exceeds your approved amount, we'll contact you before proceeding.

Important: A Price Cap is a maximum authorization amount, not a quoted repair price. We price repairs based on the actual work performed, parts required, and our published pricing whenever applicable. If a repair is normally around $100, setting a $500 Price Cap will not increase the cost of the repair.

Most devices cannot be accurately diagnosed through phone calls, emails, or photos alone. A proper diagnosis requires physical inspection and testing. Any pricing discussed before inspection should be considered an estimate.

If No Price Cap Is Provided: Repair pricing will be based on labor, parts, repair complexity, and our published pricing when applicable. Our default approval limit is $150. Repairs over $150 will generally require approval before work continues.

Payment & Diagnostics: Pre-approval does not require payment. Most mail-in diagnostics are free. Certain vintage, legacy, or specialty devices may require a diagnostic fee due to the additional time and research involved.

We typically do not require payment until repairs are completed, tested, and ready to ship. Standard return shipping is included with most repairs unless otherwise noted.

Repair Services Terms and Conditions

Agreement to Terms

By submitting your device for repair, you agree to these Terms and Conditions. Surrendering your device indicates that you have read, understood, and accepted these terms.

Device Possession and Retention

By submitting a device for repair, you authorize Trílex Fix Repair Group LLC to retain possession of the device until:

The repair or repair attempt is completed.
All applicable fees (diagnostic, disassembly, cancellation, or repair) are paid in full.
Any agreed-upon price cap set between the customer and Trílex Fix team is exceeded.

We reserve the right to hold any device until service is completed, even if you request its return mid-repair. If you request the device before completion, a disassembly or cancellation fee may apply depending on work already performed.

Theft and Missing Devices

Trílex Fix Repair Group LLC takes the security of devices very seriously. In the unlikely event that a device is lost or stolen while in our possession or during transit under our supervision, the following applies:

We will conduct a full investigation, including reviewing shipping records, surveillance footage (if available), and staff accountability logs.
Customers must report missing devices immediately upon discovery.
Liability for theft is limited to the verified value of the device or the repair fee paid, whichever is less.
We strongly recommend customers insure high-value devices prior to shipment or service.
This policy does not cover devices lost or stolen after they have been returned to the customer or delivered to a shipping carrier once the package has been signed for.

By submitting your device for repair, you acknowledge and accept this policy.

Repair Authorization and Price Cap

By submitting your device, you authorize us to perform the repairs necessary to address your issue. Customers may set a “Price Cap” to authorize repairs up to a specified amount. If the final cost is within the approved limit, we may proceed without additional approval. If no Price Cap is provided, repairs up to $150 are considered pre-authorized. Repairs exceeding this amount may require customer approval before continuing. All pricing is based on labor, parts, complexity, and published pricing where applicable.

Repair Authorization and Risks

By submitting your device, you understand that repairs involve inherent risks, and delicate components may suffer damage despite our best efforts.

Irreparable Device Risk

By authorizing Trílex Fix Repair Group LLC to open and attempt repair on your device, you acknowledge that some devices may not power on or function properly after disassembly due to hidden damage, fragile components, or unforeseen issues. In such cases, Trílex Fix Repair Group LLC will not be held responsible for loss of function. You will only be charged the applicable diagnostic or repair attempt fee, not the full repair fee.

Payment Terms

We accept Cash, VISA, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, Venmo, and Klarna as payment methods. We retain your device until payment is received in full unless a payment plan is arranged in advance.

Unresolved Repairs – 3-Month Policy

Devices that remain in repair for more than 3 months without progress or ability to proceed may be returned to the customer at the address on file. Customers will be notified before return, and any applicable storage fees up to that point may still apply. Trílex Fix Repair Group LLC is not responsible for devices left beyond this period if contact cannot be made.

Responsibilities and Liabilities

We are not responsible for cosmetic damage before or during repair.
Customers are responsible for backing up data; we are not liable for any data loss.
Our liability is limited to the total fees paid for services rendered.
Parts damaged beyond repair will not be returned.
If we detect misuse, tampering, or non-standard parts, repairs may be limited, canceled, or subject to higher fees due to added risk.
We are not responsible for cases, boxes, headsets, or other accessories mailed with your device unless specifically required for testing and pre-approved.

Device Return and Warranty

Devices are not returned mid-repair except under specific conditions. Deposits for special-order parts are non-refundable until repair completion. We provide a 90-day warranty on LCD and storage-related repairs, and a 30-day warranty on all other repairs. Required Testing Equipment: For devices that are 10 years old or older, or for VR headsets experiencing joystick drift, customers must provide all necessary equipment, such as compatible game cartridges, controllers, or headsets, for testing purposes. If the correct equipment is not provided, the device cannot be fully tested and the repair will not be covered under warranty.

Refund Policy

We offer full refunds if the device remains unopened or undiagnosed. If a warranty repair fails, a partial refund is provided, minus diagnostic fees. Deposits for unavailable parts are refundable minus diagnostic fees. A $50 minimum upfront fee applies to opened devices; this fee is waived if the repair is completed.

Customer Conduct

We reserve the right to refuse service to rude or disruptive customers. Return shipping costs are the customer’s responsibility in such cases.

Deposits and Repair Opt-Out

A 50% non-refundable deposit is required for special-order parts. Customers may opt out if the repair estimate or price cap is exceeded. Devices held for more than 30 days without a decision are subject to a $1 per day storage fee.

Shipping and Specialized Repairs

We are not responsible for lost packages but will assist with insurance claims. Full details on shipping, insurance options, and liability can be found on our Shipping Terms & Insurance page. Please contact us before sending unusual or non-standard devices. Specialized rates may apply for difficult or unusual PCB board repairs.

Rush Orders

Rush service places your device at the top of our repair queue, but completion times are not guaranteed. Some repairs may take longer depending on complexity and device condition. Updates will be provided through the repair tracking system when available. Rush order fees are non-refundable.

Device Return Policy

Devices are only released to the person who dropped them off or to someone presenting the ticket number and matching ID.

Intellectual Property

We retain exclusive ownership of all service content and features.

Termination of Service

We may suspend or terminate service immediately for any violation. Certain terms will continue to apply after termination.

Limited Repair Agreement

This agreement applies to devices that cannot be fully tested or that arrive partially disassembled.

Governing Law and Updates

These terms are governed by U.S. law. We may update the terms with 30 days’ notice. Continued use of our services constitutes acceptance of changes.

Agreement Acceptance

These terms take effect upon receipt of your device or payment.
