USB-C Port Removal • Board-Level Microsoldering • Limited / Partial Repair
// WHAT THIS REPAIR INCLUDES
- Damaged USB-C Port Removal — Removal of the affected USB-C port from the ROG Ally X motherboard as requested.
- Board-Level Microsoldering — Precision removal of the USB-C connector using professional microsoldering and board-level repair equipment.
- Board Inspection — Inspection of the USB-C area and surrounding motherboard circuitry for visible damage or abnormalities.
- Remaining USB-C Port Testing — Testing of the remaining USB-C connection to verify that the device can continue operating through the functional port.
- Reassembly — Proper reassembly of the ROG Ally X following completion of the requested limited repair.
- Basic Function Testing — Testing of the device in its new single-port configuration before return.
// IMPORTANT REPAIR INFORMATION
During testing, we were not able to confirm with 100% certainty that the USB-C port itself was the original cause of the failure. When the affected port was disconnected from the rest of the device, it showed normal activity on the USB-C amp meter. However, when connected to the motherboard, that USB-C connection would not function properly.
This means the problem may have been within the USB-C port itself, but it is also possible that there is additional damage within the charging or USB Power Delivery circuitry associated with that port.
IMPORTANT // LIMITED “HALF REPAIR”
The customer requested that Trílex Fix remove the affected USB-C port rather than proceed with a complete board-level diagnosis and repair of the associated USB-C / Power Delivery circuit. Because of this, this service is considered a partial / limited repair.
Additional circuit-level diagnostics that would normally be required to determine the exact cause of the original USB-C failure are not included with this service.
// LIMITED REPAIR WARRANTY NOTICE
Because the underlying USB-C / Power Delivery circuitry is not being completely diagnosed or repaired, Trílex Fix cannot provide a warranty on this limited repair or guarantee the future operation of the remaining USB-C circuitry.
The ROG Ally X will be returned in its current repaired configuration using the remaining functional USB-C port.
