Trilex Fix Special Handling Policy

Bug Infested Electronics Repair

CED — Contaminated Electronic Device

Trilex Fix offers bug infested electronics repair
for select gaming consoles and electronic devices affected by
roaches, insects, pest debris, and contamination. Special CED
packaging, disclosure, and shipping requirements apply before
these devices can be accepted for repair.

📸 CED Packaging Example

Devices submitted for bug infested electronics repair
must be properly contained before they are shipped to Trilex Fix.

⚡ Bug Infested Electronics Repair Requirements

If you know or suspect that your console, computer, or other
electronic device has been exposed to roaches, insects, insect
droppings, eggs, nesting material, or other pest contamination,
you must disclose this on your Trilex Fix repair form
before shipping or dropping off the device.

Even if you believe the insects are no longer alive, please
disclose the previous infestation.

Failure to disclose pest contamination may result in a
higher mandatory cleaning or containment fee
and may delay the repair while the device is moved to the
appropriate inspection area.

🕷 Spider-Infested Devices Are Not Accepted

Trilex Fix does not accept devices containing spiders,
spider egg sacs, or a known spider infestation.

If you discover a spider or spider egg sac while preparing the
device for shipment,
DO NOT SHIP THE DEVICE.

Contact Trilex Fix before proceeding.

☠ Do Not Spray Chemicals Into the Device

Please do not spray insecticide, pesticide,
bug killer, cleaner, bleach, alcohol, or other liquid chemicals
into the console or electronic device immediately before shipping.

Chemical residue may create additional safety concerns for our
technicians and may also cause additional electronic or cosmetic
damage.

Contain the device — do not chemically treat it for us.

📦 How to Ship a Bug-Infested Electronic Device

Any pest-contaminated device approved for
bug infested electronics repair must be isolated
before being placed into the shipping box.

  1. Place the entire device inside one heavy-duty trash
    bag.
  2. Completely seal the first bag. The opening must not be left
    loose or exposed.
  3. Place the entire sealed first bag inside a
    second heavy-duty trash bag.
  4. Completely seal the second bag. There should be
no opening through which insects could escape.
  5. Place the double-bagged device inside a sturdy shipping box
with sufficient cushioning to prevent the device from moving
    during transit.
  6. Close and securely tape the shipping box before presenting it
    to the shipping carrier.

Double-bagging is required for pest-contaminated devices even
when the customer believes the infestation is no longer active.

📡 Mark the Outside of the Box: CED

Trilex Fix uses the code CED to identify packages
requiring special handling.

CED = Contaminated Electronic Device

Clearly write the following on the outside of the shipping box:

CED – KEEP SEALED

TRILEX FIX REPAIR

This lets our technician identify the package
before opening it and move it to the appropriate
inspection area.

CED is an internal Trilex Fix handling code. It is not a USPS,
UPS, FedEx, government, or hazardous-material designation.

🚨 Place a Second Warning Inside the Box

Before sealing the shipping package, place a large sheet of paper
directly underneath the top box flaps.

The note should clearly state:

⚠ CED – PEST CONTAMINATION

DO NOT OPEN INDOORS
DEVICE IS DOUBLE-BAGGED

This provides a second warning to the technician even if the
exterior CED marking becomes obscured by a shipping label or
carrier handling sticker.

📮 Shipping Carrier Requirements

The CED marking is a Trilex Fix internal code only.
It does not guarantee that USPS, UPS, FedEx, or another carrier
will accept a particular package.

Shipping carriers maintain their own rules concerning live
animals, insects, contaminated items, packaging, and
transportation.

A carrier may refuse a shipment that does not meet its applicable
acceptance, packaging, safety, or mailability requirements.

If a postal employee or shipping carrier asks what is inside
the package or asks about its condition, answer accurately.

Do not describe CED as a government classification and do not use
the CED code to conceal information requested by a shipping
carrier.

Customers using the United States Postal Service should review the
official

USPS Publication 52 live-animal mailing requirements

before attempting to mail a device that may contain live insects.

📋 How to Describe the Device

When identifying the actual merchandise being shipped, describe
the electronic device accurately.

For example:

USED PLAYSTATION 5
ELECTRONIC EQUIPMENT FOR REPAIR

If the carrier asks additional questions concerning insects,
contamination, packaging, or the condition of the device, answer
those questions accurately and follow the carrier’s instructions.

🔎 Bug-Damaged Console & Electronics Repair

Our bug infested electronics repair process is
intended for devices that can be safely contained, inspected,
cleaned, and evaluated before normal electronic diagnostics begin.

✓ May Be Considered

  • Roach-contaminated gaming consoles
  • Previously infested electronics
  • Devices containing insect debris or droppings
  • Devices damaged by insect contamination
  • Consoles with pest-related power supply damage

Acceptance is subject to inspection and the device must
follow all Trilex Fix containment requirements.

✕ Not Accepted

  • Known spider infestations
  • Devices containing live spiders
  • Devices containing spider egg sacs
  • Devices soaked with pesticide or insecticide
  • Uncontained pest-contaminated devices

🛡 Why Special CED Handling Is Necessary

Electronics provide warm, protected spaces where insects can hide.
Game consoles, computers, power supplies, televisions, and other
electronics contain vents, shielding, fans, heatsinks, and
internal cavities where insects, debris, or eggs may remain hidden.

Opening an infested device in a normal repair environment could
expose other customer equipment, workbenches, tools, storage
areas, and technicians.

The CED procedure allows Trilex Fix to recognize the package
before it enters the normal repair workflow.

🧰 What Happens When Your CED Device Arrives?

  1. The exterior CED – KEEP SEALED marking alerts
Trilex Fix that special handling is required.
  2. The package can be moved to the appropriate inspection area
    before the device is opened.
  3. The internal warning underneath the box flaps provides a
    second contamination warning.
  4. The device is inspected for contamination, physical damage,
    infestation level, and repairability.
  5. Cleaning or containment requirements may be assessed before
    normal electronic diagnostics begin.
  6. Once appropriate, the repair can continue through the normal
    Trilex Fix repair process.

💳 Cleaning & Non-Disclosure Fees

Pest contamination can require additional disassembly, cleaning,
containment, sanitation, and technician time beyond a normal
electronic repair.

Additional cleaning charges may therefore apply before
bug infested electronics repair can begin.

If pest contamination was known or suspected but
was not disclosed before the device arrived,
a higher mandatory cleaning or containment fee may apply.

Please disclose the issue in advance. It allows us to prepare
properly and protects other customer equipment.

❓ Bug Infested Electronics Repair FAQ

What does CED mean?

CED stands for Contaminated Electronic Device.
It is an internal Trilex Fix handling code.

Why shouldn’t I write “bug infestation” all over the box?

Trilex Fix needs a clear identifier that tells our technicians
to keep the package sealed and move it to the appropriate
inspection area. The CED code accomplishes this without confusing
it with an official carrier or hazardous-material classification.

Can I put the console directly into the shipping box?

No. An approved pest-contaminated device must be
double-bagged and sealed before being placed
inside the shipping box.

What if all of the bugs look dead?

The device must still be double-bagged and the previous
infestation must still be disclosed.

Should I spray bug killer inside first?

No. Please do not saturate or spray the electronics with
insecticide, pesticide, cleaner, or other liquid chemicals
before shipping.

What if I see a spider?

Do not ship the device. Trilex Fix does not accept known spider
infestations, spiders, or spider egg sacs.

Does writing CED mean the carrier approved the package?

No. CED is only a Trilex Fix internal handling designation.
Customers remain responsible for complying with the requirements
of the shipping carrier they choose.

Can the Post Office or another carrier refuse the package?

Yes. A shipping carrier may refuse a package that does not comply
with its applicable shipping, packaging, safety, or mailability
requirements.

What should I do if the carrier asks about the infestation?

Answer the carrier’s questions accurately and follow its
instructions.

Can Trilex Fix repair a PS5 damaged by roaches?

Potentially, yes. Trilex Fix can evaluate certain roach-damaged
consoles for bug infested electronics repair,
including systems affected by pest debris, contamination,
electrical shorts, corrosion, or power supply damage.
